Best Practice Forum
T he British Hospitality Association working in partnership with the DCMS and DTI created the Best Practice Forum in 2001. It is a strategic alliance of eight key trade associations and other industry organisations operating within the tourism, hospitality and leisure sector. Its role is to encourage businesses in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry to introduce new ideas and innovation by adopting and adapting best practice - so raising their efficiency, productivity and competitiveness to world-class levels.

Association of Leading Visitor Attractions
Members of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) comprise the majority of Britain's biggest and best known attractions. Between them they welcome over 85 million domestic and overseas visitors each year - some 25% of the visits made annually in the United Kingdom.
British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions
Founded in 1936, BALPPA is the non profit-making Trade Association, which represents the interests of owners, managers, suppliers and developers in the UK's commercial leisure parks, piers, zoos and static attractions sector. It speaks for some 250 members, and ultimately for many millions of customers every year.
British Beer & Pub Associations
The British Beer and Pub Association is the leading organisation representing the brewing and pub sector. Its members account for 98% of beer brewed in the UK and own more than half of Britain's 60,000 pubs.
British Hospitality Association
The British Hospitality Association is the lead body in the hospitality industry. BHA has been representing all sections of the hotel, restaurant and catering industry for nearly 100 years. (Not just the large organisations but also thousands of individually owned hotels. Its membership also includes restaurateurs, contract caterers, clubs, transport caterers, theatres, attraction, outside caterers, universities, suppliers to the industry and many others). The Association exists to ensure that the views of the British hospitality industry are represented in a forceful, coherent and co-ordinated way to government and policy makers in the UK and internationally, in order that its members' businesses can flourish.

Business In Sport and Leisure is an umbrella organisation representing the interests of over 100 private sector companies in the sport, hospitality and leisure industry.

Meetings Industry Association
The MIA is one of the leading professional organisations for the conference industry in the UK and Ireland.

MIA supports its members by:

  • Maintaining the highest professional standards through the 'Hospitality Assured – Meetings' scheme.
  • Improving facilities and ensuring quality
  • Developing professional services: training, research, codes of conduct and the promotion of recommended contractual practice.
Restaurant Association
A not-for-profit organisation The Restaurant Association has a membership of over 10,500 group and independent restaurants as part of the British Hospitality Association, the national trade association for the hospitality and catering industry, provides professional guidance to members, represents their views to Government. It actively promotes education and training in the industry through its Young Chef Young Waiter competition which is now in its 20th year, college award schemes and its Modern Restaurant Apprenticeship programme.
 
Academy of Culinary Arts
The Academy of Culinary Arts is Britain's leading professional association of Head Chefs, Pastry Chefs, Restaurant Managers and suppliers in Great Britain. While concerned with raising standards and awareness of food, food provenance, cooking and service, its objectives are equally focussed on the new generation of young industry people through its education and training programmes and the provision of career opportunities.

Academy of Food and Wine
The Academy of Food and Wine was founded in 1988 to assist employers raise the standard of professionalism in restaurants and bars by recognising the business benefits of training. Since its foundation The Academy of Food and Wine has grown to be nationally recognised as the industry's leading voice for raising awareness and promoting professional food and wine service standards.
